Scania IM

About the Role

We are looking for a toolmaker for our tool shop at Scania IM. You will work with single-piece manufacturing and small series in cutting machining using CNC-controlled machines, and manufacture and modify special tools, spare parts, prototypes, etc. We offer a stimulating and varied environment with several challenges in everyday life.

Your Main Responsibilities

As a toolmaker in our department, you will independently prepare and plan all operations in the machine to produce requested items based on drawings. Since the manufacturing series are small, there are continuously new items to be produced. By working smart and leveraging experiences from already manufactured items, you will contribute to our continuous improvement. Much of the work will be performed independently, although you will have supportive colleagues working on similar tasks. You will also have close collaboration with preparers, designers, etc.

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone with several years of experience in cutting machining using CNC multi-operation machines. You should be able to read and understand drawings fluently, be a creative problem solver, meticulous, positive, and cooperative, and eager to help develop our workshop to achieve the best possible results. We are a service department, which means a lot of contact with different functions within Scania, so it is important that you are outgoing and have an easy time collaborating. You are used to working independently and have the ability to prioritize and plan your work.

We also see that you:

  • Have experience with the most common workshop machines and possess a high level of technical general knowledge.
  • Have experience in programming from drawings and preferably experience in CAM programming.
  • Have good knowledge in reading drawings and measurement technology.
  • Have a technical education or similar experience.
  • Can communicate fluently in Swedish (at least level C1) and handle English.

Who Are We?

We are a cheerful group of about 20 people where there is a lot of openness and everyone respects each other's differences. We are happy to share our experiences and help each other. We value order and cleanliness and are very engaged in our work.

We Offer

We offer a stimulating and varied environment with several challenges in everyday life. You will have many points of contact within the entire Scania production. You will have fantastic colleagues in an extremely good working environment. You will receive the competence development needed for the role and have good opportunities to grow within the role and the company. You will work with machines and equipment at the forefront of technology and collaborate closely with preparers, designers, etc.

Additional Information

The position is a permanent position located in Södertälje. The work is performed in two shifts. For questions, contact the recruiting manager Micael Johannssen at email: micael.johannssen@scania.com

Your application should include a CV and preferably a cover letter. Interviews are conducted continuously, and the position will be filled when we find the right candidate, so submit your application today.
